For many years I have really enjoyed ocean racing, my second love.

As long as I can remember I have been interested in vintage Chris Craft runabouts and have really enjoyed restoring them.

Here are some pictures I hope you find interesting. Select a thumbnail on the picture page for an enlarged picture.

  • Ocean Racing
Sailboat racing has been my main hobby since 1965, when I quit golf, and is enjoyed by most of our family. I have been in many ocean races in the local area and international races to Ensenada Mexico 28 times Manzanillo 3 times and Puerto Vallarta, 2 times. The pictures in this album are just a representation.
Doris is also very good in a single handed boat called a Sabot.

  • Chris Craft's
These are Vintage Chris Craft’s that I restored. The first, a 1953 19’ Holiday was purchased in Brown County Wisconsin. The second, a 1947 Deluxe Runabout was purchased at Indian River Michigan. There is no money to be made doing this, it is for the love of working with wood and restoring old boats.

  • Remote Control Racing
The group has been racing in Oceanside Harbor on Wednesdays since 1987.
The boats are 36" long and 61" from the bottom of the keel to the top of the mast.
